Well here we are at three weeks old and life is certainly different. Here are some things that we have learned.
- With 6 degrees between us it is amazing how long it took us to figure out a swaddle blanket.
- Apparently one can keep going with only 2 hours of sleep a night and no caffeine as long as you don't care what your house looks like or that you maintain regular hygiene because it is impossible to get those things done.
- Dentists must make a killing off of new moms b/c I can't tell you how many times I brushed my teeth in the first 2 weeks home. I'm not sure if I ever did. I do know I only showered every 3 days and brushing my hair is also a blur come to think about it.
- The phrase, "You've got to let some things go" goes through your mind a dozen times a day as you watch your dear husband try to handle all the house duties for you.
- Even if you think the baby has fallen asleep, he's not really asleep, he is just waiting for you to lie down and take a breath before saying, Fooled you sucker!
- There are way to many weird shows on at 3 in the morning. After deciding that the Steve Wilkos show isn't the best quality programming for my young son to hear I switched to the Home Shopping Network and for only 3 easy payments of $25.99 you too can own the Ninja. The most amazing blender system I have ever seen and is sure to make me an amazing cook. I also think the Wave system will get me into better shape than before I was pregnant. I am convinced of these things!
I hope to write more tomorrow but am glad I've at least gotten back on here and will promise to try to get more pictures taken of our little guy. Here are the most important things I have learned in the last 3 weeks though
- Carter is our blessing and although so small he fills my heart with love every time I look at him. No matter how tired I may be he brings me peace and comfort just by holding him.
- I have an amazing husband that works so hard everyday to make sure Carter and I are happy and have everything we want.
LOVE the updates! What an absolutely adorable little guy!
