A few of my old students amd parents from Kansas City stopped by!
Four months old! His first tux!
Well here we are in the middle of summer and we can't believe he is already four months! June flew by since we were going from place to place getting ready for Stacy's big day! If you notice the picture of him sleeping on me that is the day after the wedding and both ring bearer and mommy are wiped out! Stacy's wedding was a blast though and I couldn't have been prouder! I had high hopes that we would simply make it down the aisle with me holding him in one arm and the pillow in the other hand and not fall in my heels! Right before we walked down Carter put his hand on the pillow and held it there the whole way down the aisle! He smiled a bit, mommy didn't fall down so it was a success and I can't help but think he was adorable in that tux!!!
We have been visiting friends, playing on our activity mat, and having tummy time. He is getting so close to rolling over and I think it will be any day now! I'm not getting a ton of projects or house work done but I am loving every minute we spend together laughing and talking. He recently found out that he can make his voice really loud and he loves to practice standing up so he gets a higher view and let out this loud Tarzan like cry as he surveys the room. So to sum up Carter and I love playing all day and watching Ellen of course! As always, there are a few things I've learned along the way. :)
- Key thing to remember! Before you get the baby totally undressed, bath tub filled, and have only a few precious moments to bathe him before he combines his hunger pains with nighttime tiredness and communicates that with you, I repeat, Before you to all this! Go to the bathroom!
- I've learned that my child cracks up every time you get him undressed. I have not learned why he does this so I'm worried.
- If your child is brightly smiling up at you as you are swaddling him for the night it isn't because he is happy. He's really saying, "Go ahead Daddy, wrap me as tight as you can, I dare you" He's really in his own personal competition to see how early in the night he can wake you up with his triumphant break out.
- I'm happy to learn that my child is living in a time that the Hanson brothers are performing again. That's right my friends, Hanson is out with a new album and as much as you hate to admit it, we all loved Mmm'Bop when we were younger. They are all grown up and have a new jazzy sound and I was impressed with their performance on the Today show.
- The phrase less is more does not hold true with a child. More is more and it's going to just continue to be more and more formula, toys, clothes, diapers, and wipes.
