Summer Procrastination

Looking at the elephants at the zoo with Harper and Aunt Lindsay

At our favorite restaurant with the entire family! We had the upstairs to ourselves and it was a great dinner. We need lots of space for all the family now

Since we had the whole upstairs the kids all started dancing and played together while the adults continued to eat.

Relaxing at home and playing with the water table. Carter and I go out here each morning in our pajamas to play before it gets too hot!

Carter is constantly loving on Maggie and Daisy. He also sits on her and bounces sometimes but we try to catch that so poor Maggie doesn't get hurt. She is protective of him though and follows him around so she doesn't seem to mind.

Our second haircut. He didn't really care as long as he had his Cheerios.

Our first trip to the lake!

So proud of his little pool!

So you would think I would have all this extra time now that it is summer. I mean before I could always give the excuse that between work and Carter I didn't have time to update the blog but this is just pathetic. I don't understand where the time has gone. I have only 2 weeks of summer left and I have not updated this blog and none of my summer projects have been crossed off my list. Not a single one. However, I have gotten a few things done........

  • Rob and I have accomplished the total backwards, forwards, and whatever way you want to read Brown Bear, Brown Bear. Seriously, I'm not sure how long this can go on. The child is obsessed with this book. We have tried hiding it behind others and he searches till he finds it. We tried reading Polar Bear, Polar Bear, or Panda Bear, Panda Bear and he will literally stop us and put the book back on the shelf and find Brown Bear. We recite it in the car and he has the biggest smile on his face and has learned his first animal sound. He roars whenever we say Brown Bear!

  • I have already become one of those mom's that makes her child 'show off' all his new tricks and I'm proud of it!

  • We have successfully bought more avocados than we ever thought we would. Carter eats about 4 a week.

  • I continue to pull Cheerios out of unforeseen places on a daily basis. One fell out of my hair yesterday.

  • I have colored, sang, danced, played, and laughed everyday.

  • I have kept the house at the same level of dirtiness everyday. I am successfully maintaining an only slightly dirty house.

  • I have listened to Carter yell "Ma!" 40 times in a row and it never got old.

  • I have given up on the constant worry that my house will ever be fully clean.

Father's Day! I got my boys matching ties!
